Lieutenant Governor Kim Guadagno, NJDOT Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chairman James Simpson, Commissioner of Health Mary E. O’Dowd, NJ TRANSIT Vice President/General Manager of Bus Operations Joyce Gallagher and invited guests rode the 655 Bus from Princeton to the new University Medical Center of Princeton at Plainsboro. There they were joined by Congressman Rush Holt, Plainsboro Mayor Peter Cantu and others to mark the opening of the hospital and the new bus line that serve it.

NJDOT officials and newly hired military veterans gathered at the Maintenance Yard in Hamilton Township to highlight Christie Administration efforts to support the nation's veterans with job opportunities as they transition from military duty to civilian life. Commissioner James Simpson met with officials at Princeton Airport to announce nine grants that will provide almost $2.2 million in state funding for projects that enhance safety, promote state-of-good repair or advance studies for potential improvements at eight of New Jersey’s general aviation airports. The Commissioner was joined by Assemblyman Jack Ciattarelli and members of the Nierenberg family, owners of the Princeton Airport.

NJDOT Commissioner and NJ TRANSIT Board Chairman James Simpson released a report containing specific proposals to reduce pedestrian and trespasser fatalities at railroad grade crossings and other areas along railroad tracks. An oversight committee and three subcommittees were formed in response two incidents in October 2010 that resulted in three fatalities and one non-fatal injury to four teenagers.
